What you track in Wanar

Vegetables, orchards and rainy-season crops

Three crop types, each with its variety, area and unit, planting date and expected harvest.

Harvests and yield

Harvests in kilos; yield per hectare is calculated from the recorded area and harvests.

Inputs and stock

Seeds, fertiliser and crop protection products: stock in, stock out and a low-stock alert.

Photo diagnosis

In the mobile app, a photo of a sick plant gives leads, to be confirmed with an agronomist.

Sales and margin

Crop sales and crop costs give the activity’s margin, next to poultry, ponds and livestock.

Figures come from what your team records: nothing is measured automatically by sensors.

A vegetable season comes down to a few figures: what was sown, what the inputs cost, what was harvested and sold. Recorded through the season, they let you compare seasons and varieties.

Wanar is used on the vegetable plots of the Minawara farm, in the Kaffrine region of Senegal.

Frequently asked questions

Can I track several crops at once?

Yes. Each crop has its own record, with its area, variety and harvests.

Does photo diagnosis replace an agronomist?

No. It gives leads from a photo; they need to be confirmed with an agronomist.

Do I need network in the fields?

Not with the mobile app (iPhone; Android coming soon): entries stay on the phone and are sent as soon as the network returns.
